The Center for Regional Analysis has developed a monthly series of indicators that track the current and near-term performance of the Greater Washington area economy and provides a greater understanding of what drives the regional economy.
The Coincident (or current) Index reflects the direction of current economic activity in the Greater Washington area. The Leading Index provides an indication of where the region’s economy is likely heading over the next six months.
The indices are available for the current month, prior month and one year earlier. Historic data for the indices and components (back to 1990) are available from the Center. Please contact Jeannette Chapman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or 703-993-2274 for more information.
