Housing the Richmond Region’s Future Workforce
March 2013 – A This research forecasts the future housing demand associated with net new job growth in the Richmond, VA region between 2012 and 2032. Because it is a jobs-driven forecast of housing demand, it explicitly links the potential economic growth in the region to the availability and affordability of housing. Using demographic data, the study highlights not only the quantity of housing that will be needed, but also the type (single-family vs. multi-family), tenure (rent vs. own), and cost ranges associated with jobs across the entire income spectrum.
